Spore Quadrants
Breed three fungal blooms, including at least one in the central four 2×2 plots. Every spore has a compass strain (↑, →, ↓ or ←). Grow makes children in its forward and clockwise directions, if those neighbors are empty; the children inherit the next TWO compass strains. A full 2×2 blooms only when all four strains are different, then those four cells disappear. Mutate rotates one strain clockwise and costs one sunlight. Each bloom restores one sunlight and gives one culture seed. Plant spends a seed to start a new spore anywhere empty; its strain is shown in the HUD. You have sixteen actions. Begin at a corner, harvest a culture, then colonize the center instead of only repeating edge blooms.
